Can I bring my Dog

We currently allow dogs on our Utillity hire but not on the Double Cab. The vehicle is better equipped to look after your furry friend. There is an £40 cleaning charge for the vehicle and they are not allowed in the roof tents.

How do I get to you?

Wandering Icons HQ is an hour and a half from Glasgow Airport with public transport links right to our front door. We also have a 14 bedroom hotel, so why not book in a nights rest before or after your adventure? If you are travelling up by car there is a road or ferry option to reach us but please give us a call in advance so we get you any applicable discounts for travel. Our Google listing is here.

Do I need my own camping gear?

Our camping packages have everything you need for your Scottish adventure. We provide the roof tent, however we ask you to bring your own sleeping bag. A full list of gear can be found here.

Can I go off-roading?

Off-road driving in Scotland is not allowed. However there are a few “unpaved roads” around Scotland and we would be happy to share their location with you. Our trucks offer you the ability to get to places other campers simply cannot, and you would be amazed how handy having a proper 4x4 can be in our rugged landscape. Please respect these rules as our trucks are very good at telling us if you have been places you shouldn’t and this could result in loss of your security deposit.

Where should I go?

You could spend a lifetime exploring Scotland, unfortunately you may only have a week! With so much to choose from visit Visit Scotland to get the most out of your trip, and if that isn’t enough we’re always just a phone call away.

Do I need to use campsites?

Absolutely not. Part of the excitement is not knowing where you may end up and that’s why we have made sure you have everything you need. However, it’s always best to understand what wild camping is about and how to camp responsibly. Check out this handy beginners guide to Wild Camping by Open Road Scotland. We’re also always on hand to answer any questions.
