Rental Policies

Debit cards are accepted at the time of rental with a round trip plane ticket or flight itinerary that shows the renter's name and discloses the return date. Local renters must present a valid credit card in the renter's name. If using a payment source registered outside of the United Kingdom, this location cannot be responsible for any fluctuations in the currency exchanges while the deposit is being held.

Additional Driver
Additional drivers must meet all renter requirements. Other drivers can be added to the rental agreement if they visit any rental location and present their driving licence one extra driver is included as standard, but all drivers must meet criteria.

Off-road usage

All vehicles are only to be used on paved or legal unpaved roads within Scotland. Off-road usage is only allowed expressly with an email of authority from info@wanderingicons.co.uk. Failure to adhere to these conditions may result in loss of holding deposit at Wandering Icons ltd discretion. 

Damage Policy

Renters are liable for all damages caused to the vehicle, up to the holding deposit limit of £1000 whilst the vehicle is out for hire.

A holding deposit of £1000 is required on each vehicle rented with a valid credit card payable upon collection. 

Small scratches and dents (less than 2cm) are chargeable to the main hirer at a standard rate of £80 per dent/scratch

Any more substantial damages are chargeable to the main hirer based on garage costs (proof of fixtures will be provided)) 

Hirers and any additional driver must:

Be between 25 and 75

Have held a UK or EU licence for a minimum of 2 years. 

Have no more than two driving-related convictions of 3 points or less.

Have not had their licence suspended for any period within the last three years

Have not been involved in more than one fault incident within the last three years

Have not obtained a BA,DD or UT conviction

Millage Policy and area of use

All vehicles rented out by Wandering Icons Ltd have unlimited millage included as standard. Vehicles must stay within the borders of Scotland and its islands.

Roadside Protection
Roadside Assistance Protection (RAP) is an included 24-hour emergency service including tyre and glass repair or replacement costs except when part of a larger repair, replacement keys costs, and all recovery and call out charges as a result of a fault caused by the renter.
RAP does not apply if there is a breach of the rental agreement or if a wrong fuel type is used.
